As co-founder, president, and creative director, Mercedes combines her management, design, and business expertise as she leads BrainWorx Studio to meet its goal of offering the highest quality editorial, design, art, and production services to educational publishing clients. Her previous design experience includes positions at McGraw/Irwin Higher Education and Pearson Scott Foresman.

As vice president and co-founder, Theresa brings editorial experience from positions in both basal and supplemental publishing. At BrainWorx Studio, she has led the development of a wide variety of projects, including fiction and nonfiction primary texts, social studies student materials, phonics materials, and intermediate intervention texts. Her particular interest is concepting products for pre-K through primary levels, including student texts and hands-on learning materials.

Sandy's more than 20 years in educational publishing include management positions for basal and supplemental publishers, with curriculum experience across the K-8 content areas and high school Literature and Language Arts. She has led the development of a wide variety of materials for English language learners, including adoption programs. With BrainWorx Studio since 2004, Sandy leads a talented editorial team that consistently delivers quality materials.

Part of our team since 2009, Nancy brings over 20 years of math experience in educational publishing to BrainWorx Studio. With extensive knowledge of the K-8 mathematics curriculum, Nancy has held management positions for a major basal publisher and served as a freelance consultant, manager, writer, and editor in the development of a wide variety of mathematics products for both basal and supplemental publishers.

Derrick joined BrainWorx Studio in 2008 as director of client relations. An accomplished publishing professional with more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Derrick brings to BrainWorx Studio a deep knowledge of educational publishing from the product development side. He previously held positions of production manager, managing editor, and program manager for Pearson Education.
